How To Do Bas Rutten's Armbar Against An Opponent In Your Guard
Mixed martial arts legend Bas Rutten gives a lesson in mixed martial arts. Learn how to perform an armbar when your opponent
is in your guard -- forcing him to tap out.
- Step 1:
- Grab Tricep
- With the opponent in your guard (between your legs on the mat) grab your opponent's tricep, with your
opposite hand and pull it to the side across your body, making sure your grip is very tight.
- Step 2:
- Step Out/ Cross Face
- Now open your guard and step out with your right foot, while simultaneously cross facing your opponent.
- Step 3:
- Throw A Leg/ Grab A Hand
- Throw your right leg over your opponent's face. while still holding his tricep. Now grab the mount of
your opponent's hand in order to have good control.
- Step 4:
- Extend And Finish
- While controlling your opponent's hand and arm, extend your hips. Bend the opponent's arm straight up
and he will tap.
