This basic Qi Gong exercise is great for opening up the flow of chi along the central meridian and thereby improving general health and vitality.

Instructions

This exercise should be performed in combination with abdominal breathing (see Qi Gong - Regulation of the Breathing).

Exhale fully before you begin and then bring your arms round in front of you; whenever your arms are in this lower position you should be careful to keep our back straight and to not allow your shoulders to slump forwards. Inhale as your arms are brought upwards, and then when you reach the top hold the breath for a couple of seconds whilst pushing the palms upwards towards the sky. Exhale as your arms come back down to your sides.

you should perform at least 8 repetitions of this exercise.
