How To Do Bas Rutten's Armbar Against An Opponent In Your Guard

Mixed martial arts legend Bas Rutten gives a lesson in mixed martial arts. Learn how to perform an armbar when your opponent is in your guard -- forcing him to tap out.

Step 1:
Grab Tricep
With the opponent in your guard (between your legs on the mat) grab your opponent's tricep, with your opposite hand and pull it to the side across your body, making sure your grip is very tight.
Step 2:
Step Out/ Cross Face
Now open your guard and step out with your right foot, while simultaneously cross facing your opponent.
Step 3:
Throw A Leg/ Grab A Hand
Throw your right leg over your opponent's face. while still holding his tricep. Now grab the mount of your opponent's hand in order to have good control.
Step 4:
Extend And Finish
While controlling your opponent's hand and arm, extend your hips. Bend the opponent's arm straight up and he will tap.
